Whether you've been working with NetSuite for years or are just looking for a future-ready ERP system, this update deserves your attention.

Blog Hero Net Suite 2026 1 release
In a nutshell, what does NetSuite 2026.1 bring?

Your ERP system needs to grow with your ambitions. While many companies struggle with inflexible software that fails to keep up with AI developments, NetSuite is taking a big step forward in March 2026. Release 2026.1 makes NetSuite an open platform that works seamlessly with today's smartest AI tools.

  1. AI integration: Link external AI models such as ChatGPT and Claude directly to your business data
  2. Faster monthly close: The new Intelligent Close Manager saves your finance team hours of work
  3. Smarter pricing strategies: Automatic price differentiation based on customer, date or product
  4. Improved links: More modern APIs and easier integration management from one place
  5. Deeper analytics: More powerful reporting thanks to the latest Oracle AI database
Bring your own AI

1. AI directly linked to your data

This is the biggest change under the hood, and therefore the reason why NetSuite now stands out from the competition.

With the new AI Connector Service, you can let external AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude securely communicate with your NetSuite environment. What does that mean in practice?

Imagine this: you type in plain language "Give me a breakdown of our top 10 customers by revenue this quarter, compared to last year" and you get an immediate response. No report building, no exporting to Excel. The AI retrieves, analyzes and presents the data, all within NetSuite's security framework.

Where other ERP systems still consider AI to be in the future, NetSuite now offers it out-of-the-box. For companies considering switching: now is the time to choose a platform that is not behind the times.

"NetSuite is evolving from a closed system to an open platform where your favorite AI tools work directly with your business data, without compromising on security."

2. Month end: from stressful to streamlined

Recognizable? For finance teams, month-end closing is often a stressful race against the clock. Your team works overtime to get everything done, and yet errors creep in that cause surprises later.

NetSuite 2026.1 introduces the Intelligent Close Manager: an AI-driven dashboard that fundamentally changes the close process.

What improvements can you expect?

  • Real-time visibility into your closing progress
  • Automatic detection of anomalies and potential errors before they become problems
  • Proactive analysis of trends so you're not surprised afterwards

In addition, NetSuite solves a long-held wish: you can now adjust the posting period of journal entries while they are still awaiting approval. This prevents unnecessary rejection and resubmission of entries, which directly increases efficiency. With our customers, we see that this kind of improvement can reduce the turnaround time of the monthly closing by days.

These updates help to further increase accuracy and reduce manual administrative work:

  • Prediction of payment dates: A new AI feature predicts when customers will actually pay their invoices. This gives the finance department much more control over cash flow forecasts.
  • Reliable journal entries via API: Journal line sublists are now standardized to a ‘keyed’ configuration. This means that integrations (REST, CSV, SOAP) can now update specific lines based on a unique key, instead of having to overwrite the entire list. This prevents errors in complex data exchanges.
  • Advanced Revenue Recognition: For companies that work with complex revenue recognition, new filters have been added to the ‘Update Revenue Arrangements’ page. In addition, you can now define Recognition Treatment Rules based on Class, Department, Location, and even custom fields.
  • Automatic approval of correction entries: these entries are now automatically approved. This prevents double entries (GL impact) and not only speeds up the process, but also makes it much less prone to errors.

3. Operations and supply chain: more control, less manual labor

For companies that trade, distribute or manufacture, there is much to like in the latest NetSuite release. The improvements touch the entire supply chain: from procurement terms to warehouse floor.

Consignment stock without the hassle

The new vendor consignment functionality makes it easy to manage inventory that belongs to your supplier but is in your warehouse. You pay only when you sell, which immediately improves your cash flow. It also shifts the risk of obsolescence or shrinkage to the supplier. For trading companies with seasonal purchasing or long lead times, this is a big step forward.

Warehouse Management and Ship Central

NetSuite's WMS gets a series of practical enhancements:

  • Search by kit and non-inventory items for faster picking
  • Automatic landed cost validations on inbound shipments
  • Real-time backorder alerts while picking work orders

For distributing and shipping products, the updates are at least as relevant. NetSuite's proprietary shipping solution, Ship Central, now supports HIBC and GS1 barcode scanning. With this latest support, packing and shipping is faster and error-free. Also new is the ability to show customers retail rates while billing yourself at negotiated rates, useful for margin management with UPS and USPS.

Price Management

In a market where margins are under pressure, pricing strategy is crucial. The new Advanced Pricing module provides a powerful rules-based pricing engine. It allows you to apply cost-plus pricing and automatically differentiate prices based on date, customer or item. AI helps by generating summaries of inventory levels, costs and historical trends, so you're always pricing correctly.

4. Integrations and development: ready for the future

NetSuite invests heavily in modern integrations and better tooling for developers. Good news for both business and technical teams.

Improved native connectors

The Salesforce Connector gets trigger-based synchronization and support for Salesforce Professional Edition. For e-commerce, there are updates for Shopify B2B (bidirectional order sync) and Amazon Seller Central (automatic settlement sync). A new feature is the Loop connector that automatically processes return data from Shopify into NetSuite.

REST APIs and developer tooling

The REST Web Services have been expanded considerably. It is now possible to add or remove attachments and prepare forms (create-form) via the API. For organizations that use a lot of customization, the new SuiteCloud Developer Assistant is a godsend. This extension for Visual Studio Code helps developers with AI suggestions, allowing personalization to be delivered faster and error-free.

When native isn't enough

Native connectors and APIs work fine for standard scenarios in most cases. But we see our customers running into limits when deploying a broad IT landscape:

  • Multiple systems that need to talk to each other (ERP + CRM + WMS + webshop + marketplaces)
  • Complex business logic between systems - think price calculations, order splitting or stock allocation
  • Need for central overview: one dashboard for all integrations, including error handling and monitoring
  • Links to systems for which no native connector exists

For those scenarios, Fortiqo offers ConnectR: our proprietary integration solution that connects you NetSuite to any system. ConnectR gives you full control over data flows, transformations and error handling, without depending on the limitations of standard connectors.

OAuth 2.0: action required

NetSuite is phasing out Token-based Authentication (TBA). As of 2027.1, it will no longer be supported for new integrations; the focus shifts entirely to the more secure OAuth 2.0. Still running on TBA? Plan your migration now, we'd love to think with you!

Other improvements that make daily interaction with NetSuite easier:

  • NetSuite 360 redesign: The revamped interface of the NetSuite 360 dashboard is now available worldwide. It includes new dashboards for both support issues and financial overviews, allowing you to view invoices or contact the support team directly from one place.
  • Saved Searches to website: An interesting new option within NetSuite is the ability to publish saved searches directly to a website. This is ideal for companies that want to share specific (non-sensitive) data live with partners or customers.
  • AI Testing in the Sandbox: Companies can now safely test the Exception Management (AI) functionality in a Sandbox environment. This uses models that have been trained on production data, without impacting the live environment.

5. Get the most out of your reporting and analytics with the updated NetSuite Analytics Warehouse.

We all know that data is valuable. But the greatest value is not in the data itself, but what you do with that data.

NetSuite already offers many features by default: dashboards, saved searches, reports you can build yourself. For many companies, that's enough. But do you want to get the most out of your data, think advanced analysis, large data sets, or insights you don't get with standard reports? Then there's NetSuite's integrated solution, the NetSuite Analytics Warehouse.

And that solution gets a serious upgrade in the latest release: it runs on the Oracle AI Database 26ai.

What does that mean specifically?

  • Faster reporting, even with large amounts of data
  • The ability to unleash AI on your data warehouse for deeper analysis
  • Better performance with complex queries

For companies that want to make data-driven decisions, this means less time spent building reports and more time for the analysis itself!

NetSuite 2026.1

Why this update matters

NetSuite 2026.1 is more than a list of new features. With it, NetSuite is clearly demonstrating a shift in how ERP systems work.

For existing NetSuite users, this update means your system gets smarter and faster, at no extra cost. The improvements in financial processes and AI integration are immediately applicable.

For companies making an ERP choice? This is proof that NetSuite is not standing still. Where other systems struggle to integrate modern technology, NetSuite builds AI into the core of the platform. Choosing NetSuite means choosing a system that will still be at the forefront five years from now.
